AFCEA recognizes Stephen Gillotte with 40 Under 40 Award

Selected from a field of global nominees, Reinventing Geospatial®, Inc.’s (RGi’s®) CEO Stephen Gillotte has been chosen as one of AFCEA International’s 40 Under 40 Award winners. An AFCEA executive board chose Steve based on the technical accomplishments in his career, and his significant contributions to clients through the use of innovation and thought leadership in a STEM field.

Winners will be recognized on May 16, 2018 as part of AFCEA’s Defensive Cyber Operations Symposium in Baltimore, MD. Additional information about AFCEA’s 40 Under 40 Award and a list of winners is available on the AFCEA website.

American Geographical Society spotlights Stephen Gillotte

The American Geographical Society (AGS) recently published an article featuring Reinventing Geospatial®, Inc.’s (RGi’s®) CEO, Stephen Gillotte. The article discusses how as an AGS Fellow, Steve “continues to dedicate resources to the advancement of geographic thinking, knowledge, and understanding across the Intel Agencies and US Army, leading to improvements in Soldier-facing technologies.” The article goes on to highlight Steve’s passion for education and community activism.

RGi supports education through the Hypothermia Prevention and Response Program

Reinventing Geospatial®, Inc. (RGi®) recently joined forces with the Hypothermia Prevention and Response Program to offer shelter guests a unique learning opportunity. With RGi’s help, the program not only provides shelter during cold winter months, but now offers basic computer skills training and resume development to advance their skills or search for new roles. To support this educational effort, RGi purchased several laptops and developed a standard curriculum for volunteers as they work with shelter guests.

RGi and USGIF volunteers deliver 150 food packs to children in need

Reinventing Geospatial®, Inc. (RGi®) and United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation (USGIF) volunteers joined together in the fight against hunger, packing more than 150 food packs for elementary school children in need.

The Power Pack Program (P3), run by Food for Others, is designed to provide food to young students in our community who may be at risk of hunger between school meals.  RGi and USGIF volunteers packed and delivered over 150 P3 packs for students, each containing two breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack and drink items.

Since early 2017, RGi-ers have packed over 1,050 P3 packs representing more than 3,500 pounds of food.

RGi partners with USGIF to offer $10,000 needs-based scholarship

Reinventing Geospatial®, Inc. (RGi®) has partnered with The United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation (USGIF) to offer a new award as part of its 2018 USGIF Scholarship Program.

The $10,000 RGi Scholarship for Geospatial and Engineering will be awarded to an undergraduate who demonstrates financial need and is interested in or studying both the engineering and geospatial disciplines.

“RGi has a long history of supporting student growth and development, and we are thrilled to continue these efforts with USGIF through an annual RGi scholarship,” said RGi CEO Stephen Gillotte. “We need to continue to build a diverse base of students who are passionate about the future of GEOINT.”

Every year, USGIF awards scholarships of various amounts to exceptional students studying the geospatial sciences and related fields. In total, USGIF has awarded more than $1.1 million in scholarships since the program began in 2004. “USGIF and RGi have partnered to recognize and support those students with a geospatial and engineering background who are committed to becoming competitive in this market,” said USGIF Director of Academic Programs Dr. Camelia Kantor.

RGi returns from another fun corporate trip!

For the seventh consecutive year, the RGi team and guests spent time away together on a year-end corporate trip. This year’s four day, three night event was held at the beautiful Ritz Carlton in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.

The RGi team spent their days relaxing in cabanas on the pool deck, sailing the warm Florida waters on a catamaran and enjoying the company of their friends and colleagues. Of course, we did manage to squeeze in a small amount of corporate business between all the fun.
