American Geographical Society spotlights RGi

The American Geographical Society (AGS) recently published an article featuring RGi and our CEO, Steve Gillotte. The article discusses how RGi works to “improve the mobility of data and information in austere environments by providing consistent and reliable access to geospatial data and information to disadvantaged users.” The article goes on to highlight RGi’s R&D investment in Predictive Activity Based Planning, and how the team is exploring how machine learning and natural language processing algorithms can analyze Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) and strategic/tactical operational data in order to predict the likelihood that an event will take place.

RGi named to Washington Technology’s Fast 50 list

RGi is proud to make the Washington Technology Fast 50 list as one of the fastest growing small businesses in the government market.

Each year, Washington Technology recognizes the great accomplishments of small businesses within the government industry in their Fast 50 list. RGi is No. 40 on the list with a compound annual growth rate of 47.7%. RGi’s revenues have grown from $1.4 million in 2012 to $6.9 million in 2016.

RGi CEO Steve Gillotte joins VT CS Advisory Board

RGi is proud to announce that our CEO, Steve Gillotte has been named to the Virginia Tech Computer Science Department’s Advisory Board. While in this role, Steve will advise the department head on initiatives and overall direction of the department, and engage with current students to encourage and enhance their educational experience.  “As a Virginia Tech CS alum, it feels great to give back to the organization that was so foundational to my own career,” Steve said. “I’ve always been passionate about education and helping the professional development of students, so it’s an honor to be a part of this distinguished group.”

RGi’s Lander presents at FOSS4G 2017

RGi Software Engineer Steven Lander presented at this year’s FOSS4G event in Boston, MA on August 16, 2017. Lander’s presentation – Containerizing your geospatial applications with Docker – explained how easy Docker, and containerization in general, makes it to build and deploy geospatial applications.

Throughout his presentation, Lander showed how Docker was integrated into RGi’s continuous integration environment for testing, how containers have allowed RGi to rapidly demonstrate new capability to stakeholders, and how to debug a web application running in a Docker container using JNLP.

Executive Leaders Radio interviews RGi CEO

RGi awarded follow-on contract supporting USACE’s ERDC’s GRL

RGi was awarded a 19-month follow-on contract as a subcontractor to provide support to the US Army Corps of Engineers’ (USACE) Engineer Research & Development Center’s (ERDC) Geospatial Research Laboratory (GRL) under the Geospatial Research, Integration, Development and Support (GRIDS II) IDIQ contract.

RGi’s primary objective within this support task is to provide geospatial systems engineering expertise, architecture, agile prototyping, software development and integration. The outcomes will be demonstrated to evaluate military utility of these research and development initiatives and tested for potential transition to select Army Programs of Record (PORs).

RGi joins fight against hunger with Food for Others

RGi has joined together with Food for Others to host its first Power Pack Program (P3) volunteer event to provide elementary school children with a food pack for the weekend.

The P3 program is designed to provide food to young students in our community who may be at risk of hunger between school meals. RGi provided the food, while RGi volunteers packed and delivered over 150 P3 packs for students, each containing two breakfast items, two lunch items, two dinner items, two snack items, and two drinks.

RGi will host similar P3 events every six weeks, with the goal of 2,700 P3 packs in 2017.

RGi awarded SOCOM SBIR Phase I project

RGi was awarded a Special Operations Command (SOCOM) Small Business Innovation and Research (SBIR) Phase I project in response to Topic 163-005: Cloud Data Synchronization with Limited Bandwidth Communications. Throughout this effort, RGi will explore the feasibility of applying the underlying concepts of its SmartContent approach in austere situations, where disconnected, limited, or intermittent (DIL) communications constrain the networked environment, imposing significant barriers to rapid transmission of valuable data and knowledge from managed cloud resources. RGi will research an intelligent, automated solution that can integrate with existing applications to provide the basis for asserting the operational relevance of data and content, determine where it should be prepositioned, provisioned, and cached for maximum availability to those who need it, and enable new knowledge collected in the field or through reach-back analytics to be efficiently and opportunistically synchronized with distributed network resources.
